Awesome stuff

Well, this was a page where I recommended a bunch of blogs I loved, back in 2013. Unfortunately, most of them have moved, disappeared or are not maintained any longer. I myself have abandoned my blog for the better part of two years and, in fact, I am still not sure about taking it up again.

So here’s the list with the only survivor plus some shameless advertising:

bloggingisaresponsibility: If thought was alcohol, this blog would be absinthe. Every single post has been painfully distilled of every single irrelevant line, made as precise as can possibly be made and then unleashed into the world. There isn’t a single sub-par article. That’s all I have to say.

Bossy Boson: this is my new blog. It’s actually a webcomic about particle physics: I write the script, my wife Jenny draws the characters. It’s still a work in progress, but we’re having fun.

I was wondering when this would be done. I’ve read some of all but one of these and appreciate the intellect and creativity I’ve encountered. I agree, Tongue Sandwich makes me laugh out loud. That’s a good thing.

David, Something incredible just happened: I was left speechless. Well, almost. Thank you so much for including me here! I feel truly honored! To have met someone like you – even if only online – is a real privilege.

I just love it whenever technology can enable an exchange of ideas, in-depth conversations, or just a hearty laugh, where time, space and fate might otherwise not allow.

Likewise. Your blog is here because it deserves to be here, without a shadow of a doubt. Sometimes I truly envy your wit!
And you’re right: I think I’ve met more interesting people over the last 3 months (online) than in the last three years in my daily life. It’s pretty much the reason I have a blog.
I’m glad this made you happy!

I cannot thank you enough for your kind words here! You were the first person I interacted with in the blogging world, and I am very glad that you were (and very sorry that I still have not been able to think of a less ridiculous replacement for the word ‘blog’). I think much of my direction has come out of our interactions and your posts. I know that my blog sort of teeters between a few extremes in terms of style, but I am glad that you have been able to find what I have left hiding behind it all, even if it is subtle and sometimes a little silly.

Thank you, again. I feel very fortunate.

Really? I didn’t know I was the first! Well, it’s quite an honor…
I tend to interact with these people I really resonate with, for lack of a better word. When I read your articles it just feels like you’re someone I could spend an afternoon talking to without getting bored in the slightest. I included your blog here, well, because it’s awesome. You write way better than I do and a knack for coming up with remarkably original thoughts.
